Portraits  and Original Art

Hello and welcome to the website of Linda Streets, a professional artist based in Scarborough in the North of England.

I work mainly in Artisan water mixable oils (which are like conventional oils but quicker drying),  but also in Pencil  (please click on the image you like on the gallery pages to see details of the type of medium used). I use medium grain standard canvas or you can choose a box canvas -for a more contemporary look, these are painted on the sides so that they don't need framing.
New for 2011 I am also offering Oil on Hot Press (smooth)  paper which come  mounted ready to frame under glass.
Also new for 2011 are Coloured Pencil drawings which are on smooth watercolour paper and come with mount.
Pencil drawings are on good quality paper and come with card mount.

I specialize in realistic detailed portraits of horses, domestic pets and people and accept commissions world-wide. I work from your photographs, but can come and take some myself if you are within a reasonable distance to where I live.

I am an illustrator and work in various styles from realistic to cute in watercolour/gouache or acrylics.  Illustrations for a childrens book : Millie and Mr President help the Hospital can be seen in "Illustrations" page, also a selection of greeting card designs.

I also paint landscapes, seascapes, buildings - in fact any subject would be considered.
There are a selection of original paintings for sale under "Art" - prices on request.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my website and please don't hesitate to contact me at:-

Testimonials:-

"My sister and I purchased a portrait of our family dog,Jess, for my Dad as she had recently passed away and we wanted something to remember her by.   We provided two photographs, one for the desired pose and one for the colouring.   When we received the finished painting we were both amazed with how well the artist had captured her likeness and needless to say my Dad was over the moon with the gift."  -    Adam Meads, Burniston, Scarborough.

"I recommend Linda's work to anybody, we were so pleased with the portrait of "Jilly" , we couldn't believe how perfect the colours were, she really took time to make sure it was all just so. Absolutely Marvellous!"- Mr & Mrs Pickering, 11 Spreight Lane Flats, Scarborough.
